Jimmy Kimmel Shares Tear-jerking Update On His 7-Year-Old Son’s Third Open Heart Surgery

Jimmy Kimmel recently shared an Instagram update about his 7-year-old son Billy, who underwent his third open-heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Kimmel posted a photo of Billy smiling and wrote, “This weekend, our boy Billy had his third (of three, we hope) open heart surgery. We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid.”

He thanked the medical staff, his wife, family, friends, and the supportive community. “Thanks to those loving strangers who took time to pray for and send positive energy to our baby,” he wrote. “Thank you to my wife Molly for being stronger than is reasonable for any Mom to be.”

Kimmel added a touching message to Billy, “You are the toughest (and funniest) 7-year-old we know. Please share your love, hearts, and prayers with them and if it moves you, support @ChildrensLA or a great children’s hospital near you.”

Friends like Carson Daly and Andy Cohen sent supportive comments. Billy’s heart defect journey began at birth, and Kimmel has continuously expressed gratitude for the care his son has received.

In April, Kimmel celebrated Billy’s seventh birthday with a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Kimmel and his wife Molly also have a 9-year-old daughter named Jane, and he has two older children from a previous marriage.
